Corruption and money laundering are of considerable concern for the entire international community that result in numerous disruptive consequences on national and regional economies. 

According to Financial Action Task Force (FATF), anti-corruption and anti-money laundering work are linked in various ways. By effectively implementing measure against corruption, countries can better safeguard the integrity and interest of sectors, so as to maintain high transparency, integrity and accountability.

In this seminar, the speaker will share insights on how corruption is associated with money laundering risk that enable relevant parties to have appropriate understanding of the issues and responses.

Ms. Emily Ho, Compliance Specialist in Financial Institution

Ms. Emily Ho has over 17 years of experience in auditing and compliance services across banking sectors, listed companies and multinational corporations. She was amply engaged in various reviewing roles such as Compliance, Internal Auditing, Transaction Monitoring etc. in Hong Kong's three note-issuing banks.

Ms. Ho served as guest speakers in forums, seminars and radio programmes for Accountancy Body, as well as a columnist for newspapers. She has also been an advisor to candidate’s research project under master’s degree in forensic accounting.

Ms. Ho was designated as Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FCPA) and Chartered Accountant (ACA) at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). She was qualified as the Certified Anti-money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and Certified AML Professional (CAMLP) of the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB). She also attained Graduate Diploma in English and Hong Kong Law.
