Artificial intelligence has become a cornerstone of modern business transformation. Within the accounting profession, AI has progressed beyond being an emerging trend to become a practical tool that is reshaping professional practice. From automating routine processes to enabling advanced financial analysis, AI is also redefining both the role of accountants and the expectations placed upon them. As the profession continues to evolve, it is imperative to understand the opportunities AI creates as well as the challenges it presents. This webinar has been organized to provide accounting professionals with a comprehensive perspective on AI’s impact in the field. It will cover the fundamentals of AI, its development, and its current applications in accounting, while also addressing concerns surrounding adoption. The session will conclude with insights into future directions, equipping participants to navigate this rapidly changing landscape with confidence and foresight.

Ms. Emily Ho, FCPA, ACCA, BFP, CAMS, CAMLP

Ms. Emily Ho possessed extensive experience in auditing and compliance services across the financial sectors, listed companies, and multinational corporations. In her previous roles, she focused on assurance engagements, regulatory compliance and investigative assignments.

Ms Ho has frequently shared her expertise as a guest speaker at forums, seminars, and radio programs organized by professional accountancy bodies, and has contributed as a columnist to newspapers. In pursuit of consultancy services, she has acted as an advisor to graduate-level research projects in forensic accounting and contributed to consultation papers for international accounting organizations. She has also served as a Committee Member, Accountant Ambassador, and CPA Community Member within the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA).

Ms. Ho holds several distinguished professional designations, including Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FCPA), Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) and Business and Finance Professional (BFP) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). She is also a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and Certified AML Professional (CAMLP) accredited by the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB). Additionally, she earned the Certificate in Accounting and Business issued by HKICPA.

Ms Ho had academic achievements at completion of the Common Professional Examination (CPE) and attainment of the Graduate Diploma in English and Hong Kong Law. She also holds both Bachelor and Master of Philosophy degrees in engineering from the University of Hong Kong.
