Introduction
Court cases involving commission of fraud arise from time to time, underscoring the fact that fraud cannot be eliminated entirely. This reality makes the prevention of fraud important. The objective of this course is to provide insights on how to minimize the risk of litigation stemming from fraudulent activities and to reduce the likelihood of clients suffering financial losses due to fraudulent transactions or dealings of companies. (Since this area involves substantial information, therefore, this topic in the context of individuals’ transactions and dealings will be left for another seminar).
Notaries public have a duty to refrain from acting in situations involving fraud or violence. In this seminar, the speaker will address the common procedures adopted by notaries public to prevent fraud: to identify, assess, and manage fraud. These procedures are equally valuable to members. By studying the modus operandi of the court cases, the speaker will demonstrate how fraud has been perpetrated against companies in various transactions. Drawing from his 30+ years of notary experience, he will also share practical strategies to prevent potential fraud and safeguard against such risks.
