With the ongoing development of mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area, an increasing number of Hong Kong residents are purchasing properties there for various reasons, with others are prepared to follow. This webinar will address the relevant regulations and financial arrangements involved in the acquisition and sale of, mainly, residential properties in these cities, including the financial processes associated with property purchases and the procedures for remitting sale proceeds, if any, back to Hong Kong.

The topic is also pertinent to auditors in Hong Kong, as audit clients may acquire properties in these cities. Auditors should familiarize themselves with the property requisition documentation and processes necessary to establish a good title to such properties, especially when they are recorded as assets on the balance sheets.
